MB Rail Announces Lansingville Rail Park

Midwest & Bluegrass Rail and Lake to River Announce Lansingville Rail Park

December 10, 2024

Midwest & Bluegrass Rail, LLC (MB Rail) and Lake to River are pleased to announce the establishment of the Lansingville Rail Park – a significant rail infrastructure investment in the Mahoning Valley. MB Rail subsidiary Youngstown & Southeastern Railroad, LLC (Y&S Railroad) has acquired a 70-acre property near its interchange points with both Norfolk Southern Railway and CSX Transportation. The site boasts convenient access to Interstate 680 as well as high-capacity utility services. Y&S Railroad is a Class III short line that conducts freight rail operations in northeastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania.

Within the Lansingville Rail Park, the Y&S Railroad intends to construct and operate a multi-track rail yard, to be called Lansingville Yard. This facility, which has received grant support from the Ohio Rail Development Commission (ORDC), will improve capacity, service, and logistical efficiency for the Y&S Railroad’s current and future freight customers. Remaining acreage within the property may be developed as a prime industrial site with access to both major Class I rail networks and onsite, flexible rail switching provided by the Y&S Railroad.

“MB Rail is excited to make this investment with the support and encouragement of Lake to River. Lansingville Rail Park will be a cornerstone of Y&S Railroad’s growth strategy and commitment to fostering commerce and job creation in the Mahoning Valley for years to come.”

  • Brendan Keener, Vice President of Commercial Development, Midwest & Bluegrass Rail

“This investment is important to the City of Youngstown’s industrial growth. “With the acquisition of this acreage, we’ll have additional rail services to market as well as a highly competitive development site. We are pleased that this investment was made in our market and look forward to partnering with Midwest & Bluegrass on future opportunities at the Lansingville Rail Park.”

  • Sarah Boyarko, Vice President of Economic Development, Lake to River
